Midland Credit Management ripoff fraudlent attempt to collect bogus debt using duplicate amounts and account numbers

I received a collection notice from MCM for the amount of $224.19 listing the creditor as National City Bank. I have never done business with a National City Bank that I can remember. MCM also has the incorrect middle initial of my name on the notice.

I also recieved another collection notice mailed to my home address that had another persons name on it, (someone that is unknown to me,) with the exact amount of $224.19 owing, exact creditor, exact account number, and exact letter number! The two collection notices were identical except for the names!

I got a phone call from someone from MCM yesterday, they could barely speak english, and I told him he had the wrong name so he hung up on me.

I will be sending this info to the FTC, and I am good at writing letters. Hopefully this will nip any future mailings or phone calls in the bud.

Any further suggestions on how to deal with this bogus collection notice would be appreciated!
