Sent phony check for 4,372.00 saying I won 500,000.00 and need to contact them to activate check

Education & Science

I received letter stating that I had won $500,000.00 in lotto jackpot. Check was for $4,372.00 but I must first call a Brian Chid, Fiduciary Agent at 1-778-859-7395 (a Canadian #) to get check activated and finish getting the rest of money after I follow instructions. The winning #'s were 01-02-11-25-35-16 and the Entry #FN-714-JC531454, and suppposedly 15 other people are splitting the winnings with me.

The check was a Cashier's Check written from Fifth Third Bank in Lexington, KY. The letter was from a Amy Bell, Chief Financial Officer congratulating me on my winnings. I hope these people are caught and prosecuted and this is a terrible thing to be doing to people, I'm on disability and could certainly use the money, but my guess is that if I try to cash this check it will not go through.
