Rip off dishonest

We were contacted by John Casablanca for an audition I thought for the agency. At the audition, all the contestants were graded. If your grade was high you get an interview, if low you did not.

We rated high and got an interview right away, since we lived out of the city. Then it turned into an enrollment for the school.By that time, I was confused. Then more information was explained that training was needed. But there was no problem because she could work and pay off the tuition every weekend.

I had to think about how that could be arranged since I was not working and new in the area. They said that the classes started in a week and that I needed to pay 340. I said that I did not have that now, so she asked for 100. I still did not have the money available then but was able to get it later.

Well later that week, I received a call for the payment due. Frantically, I got the 100, then I was led to believe that the remaining balance could be worked off.

When we got to the class, they demanded the remaining 240. I said I did not have it and this was not what I was led to believe. I was told that my 100 deposit would be paid back, if she did not attend the school. She admitted her into class, but was not going to give the books, in case she did not contiune.
The books were given to her anyway as I found out later.

Well, I was not able to come up with the 240 and they are saying that I will have to pay the rest of the fee, although she only attended one deceptive class. They are also saying that I do not get my 100 dollars back even if we return the books and bag that was never used.

The manager is denying that the representative told me that I get my 100 dollars back without penalty.
