Ripoff falsely reporting debt to Credit Bureaus Richmond

I'm sad to read the accounts about this company, as it recently came to my attention that they have reported a debt to the credit bureaus against me that was not mine. If it turns out to be related to Providian, that was a screw up on Providian's part when they sold my zero balance account to another company, but reported it as over limit and past due to the bureaus.

I've contacted the bureaus and filed a protest, but it sounds like this is going to be a real pain to get off of my report.

Like others, I am unhappy that the sloppy reporting of these companies can wreak havoc with an individual's credit, and take an act of G*d to correct.
