I joined AIU in July. I initially registered with the AIU in atlanta at their dunwoody campus in the hope of completing an MBA with a concentration in human resource management.

Half way through my course I had to transfer to the AIU in Fort Lauderdale Florida. When I called them to enquire whether they offer the mba with a concentration in human resource management I was told yes and that transferring would not be a problem. So I transferred and halfway through the course a friend of mine wanted to take the same course when he called he was told that that course is no longer available.

If that was the case then what course was I on? After speaking to the VP of academics I was informed that they did have the course when I started but there were not enough people taking it so it had to be dropped and that I could take a management course instead! Management is not what I came to university for I enrolled on a human resourses programme and that is what I am going to study. I was assured that by the time my concentration begins they will have the course online.

Upon looking at my course programme it occured to me that I had been shifted onto a management course without my consent. I again took this up with the VP of academics and was told not to worry the cousre will be online.

Well to my suprise the weekend before my online classes are supposed to start I get a phonecall saying that the course had to be dropped because there were not enough students. I had to threaten legal action before I was given another alternative which was to have a direct study with a lecturer once a week. I wasnt thrilled with the decision but it was better than nothing.

I was promised that my last module would be online which it was but unfortunatly half way through that final class I had a serious car accident and had to go back to my home country. Again I was promised that the last online course would begin on 20th august. I was informed 2 days before the cousre was to begin that the class had been cancelled because there were not enough students and the next class will not be untill novemnber.

I am now demanding that I have another direct study because I am not prepared to wait until Novemnber to take the course again, it is too much of a risk for me, what if November comes and the class is cancelled again? Not only that but I need my qualification to enable me to get a job.

I have sent the university numerous emails but I have not yet had a satisfactory reponse. I am a cash student and so far I have paid over $21000 for this course and I am not going to let them get away with this.

If anyone has had a similar experience please share your story as I would like to start a class action lawsuit against them.

This is a for profit university, they will offer couses that they dont even have just to make money while people who just want an education suffer because of their greed.
