Ripoff

I am still in a state of shock.
Like all of you before me, I received a phone called From Chris Porter saying that her business was going out of business and she had spoken to our senior accountant who had given her my name as the person to talk to about buying office supplies at excellent prices. (She mentioned HIS name who was I to argue).

I listened to her speel and told her I would need to discuss it with my director who was on vacation till the next week. She called again later that week and I asked her for her phone# which she gave me after I insisted I would call her asap.

The next week she called back and I had just finished telling my director what was going in.in the meantime before speaking with him, I had done several spread sheets showing our annual savings which was considerate. He agreed with the provison that she accept a PO#.
When Chris called back she was thrilled that I said ok. I agreed to buy in large quanities as we use ALOT of supplies. She offered to send me a free tape dispenser for every gross of scotch tape I purchased. (8 gross, I rcvd 8 tape dispensers) Also she promised to send me a palm organizer for helping her out. ($19.99 @ Office Depot)

When my supplies arrived 2 wks later I was surprised there were only 11 boxes. I immediately called the # on the packing list and got the answering machine. Unlike most of you my phone call was returned right away from Patricia who assured me that ALL supplies had shipped at once. I told her I was missing blk pens and she told me they were under the red ones. (I had ordered 12 gross.) Imagine my surprise to find out they were! In 1 box!
Anyway to make a really longer story short I called Patricia 3 times. The last call was when I finally got the invoice and the quanities were WAY off. She told me they were correct and we had the usual arguement that I had misunderstood Chris (I hadn't) but she would adjust my invoice to the totals I gave her and cut it in half and dropped the s/h and fax me a new invoice.

So I redid my spread sheets and now I feel sick. Me being so happy to share the savings thru-out my company had already disperced most of them.

We will pay off this invoice but you can bet I learned a valuable lesson.
