Ripoff sexually harrasing and extorting female employee's

My name is Brooke Thomas. I was formerly employed at DirectBuy of Houston, East where the atmosphere was friendly and relaxed. I was approached by Brian Cohen, the President of DirectBuy of Buffalo with a job offer that included a promotion if I agreed to transfer from Houston to the up-and-coming Buffalo center last April. It was the WORST descicion I had ever made.

Brian, his "cousin" Eric and their affiliate Stu are the sleasiest, most unprofessional group of buisnessmen I have ever had the misfortune of working for.

I was promoted a SECOND time to a managment position because of my performance, and thats where everything went wrong. Our seceratary at the time confided to me that she (19 years old!) and Brian - who, by the way, was 34 and married with 2 children at the time - were involved in a sexual relationship. Why did she tell me this? Well, the center as a whole attended a sales conference in San Antonio, and on the VERY FIRST NIGHT that we went out to a bar as a group, Brian sexually assaulted me. He tried to kiss me several times, put his hands all over my body and said the most sexually explicit and deragatory things I've ever heard. Our secretary saw this, and mistook his advances as welcomed by myself which they were not. He asked me repeatedly to go to bed with him, and when I said no he tried to pull me with him out the bar door! I was appalled, and I told everyone in our company what had happened. Although the majority of our center witnessed this.

I was afraid to quit my job, because I didn't know anyone in Buffalo and I am a single mother. So I was given the cold shoulder by most employees for the next month. I was coerced into participating in illegal drug use in exchange for continued employment. When Brian approached me AGAIN at the Christmas party, and grabbed my behind in front of his co-owner who simply shrugged upon seeing it, I made mention to a few co-workers that I would press charges. The next week, with Brian convieniently out of town, I was terminated. Now, they are denying my unemployment benifits.

As a footnote, said secretary was also terminated. She was sleeping late at the boss's apartment and was cited as being frequently tardy. Really, he ended the relationship and didn't want her to cause any problems. Just think - THESE are the people promising to help consumers to obtain a good, honest deal.

Attorneys advised me against filing suit due to the fact that it was following my termination, and appeared vindictive.
