Retail ReportCard ripoff offering work and small questionaire, led to Requirement to purchase Thousands of dollars of useless merchandise. Ripoff

Education & Science

I mistakenly (naively!) started the sign up process to be a store "grader" to be paid to inspect stores in my area. Of course, even the highlighted stores they offered me somehow just didn't need my services in my area!

The initial company was: RetailReportCard.com which turned into Consumer Reserarch Corporation Inc.

The problem was that just to complete my application and also to receive a free Sony laptop, or, $1000 towards the purchase of it or anything in these stores, I just had to fill out a questionaire.

That turned into the requirement that I just order two of the inexpensive offers, but then 2 more, then 2 higher priced ones until then I would be forced to purchase one that was from $2300 and up! Obviously not what they originally reported.

I gave up and left the site, but then had many emails waiting for me. All of the offers that I just looked at were writing me multiple emails acting as if I had signed up and tried to entice me to explore further.

The couple of sites that I did volunteer to try, had already raced to my email. They were: BocaJava and TriClear. Fortunately, I called both immediately and they both agreed to cancel any committment.

I'll never be so stupid as to reply to any of these types of sites again! What I'm wondering is just how many people have jumped through all of their hoops and ended up being responsible for thousands of dollars of purchases, if they ever got their "free item—computer or otherwise", and if they ever sctually found work evaluating businesses. I DON'T THINK SO!

It was a no-brainer to sign up to a couple of decent offers from reputable companies in hope of gettig a major item in return. But, this site mislead me every step of the way until cancelling everything was my only recourse.
