Rip off product and service sucked in by their strong sales techniques and signed up to the Internet Marketing package

Education & Science

I was so relieved to find this website and discover that I am not the only one who is feeling disgruntled and let down by this company. I have noticed that all complaints so far have been registered by US citizens, I'm in the UK and it would be great to hear from any other Brits who are caught up in this shambles or is it just me! Back in March I too was sucked in by their strong sales techniques and signed up to the Internet Marketing package (I was one of the lucky ones to be selected, of course!) for the small sum of $8,000. The money was put on my credit card and is still currently being paid off today. I have a number of issues and here they are: 1) I was not made aware that the vermotion system and shopping cart could only process US Dollars. 2) I was encouraged to target UK and European customers, as drop shipping was relatively new over here and this would mean less competition.infact, drop shipping was so new that I had real trouble finding any wholesalers to work with! Money spent on The Shipper and The Wholesale Directory was a waste of time and I ended up finding wholesalers through my own search techniques. 3) I made it clear at the very beginning that I did not have a product to sell and was concerned about this. I was told this would not be a problem... BIG MISTAKE! It soon became clear that you needed knowledge and experience of a product to run a successful advertising and marketing campaign. I chose my product based on finding a wholesaler who would drop ship for me. 4) Colleagues, friends and potential customers comment that it's odd that a UK Website is selling in US Dollars... Of course its odd! Would you buy from a company proclaiming to be American and selling its products in Euros??!! Overall, I feel that the advice I was given was certainly not worth anything close to what I paid for it... infact I bought the Internet for Dummies book and its all in there! The software does not support my business because it's unable to support multiple currencies! I reported the currency issue back in April and nearly a year on, I'm still waiting for an upgrade. I refuse to spend anymore money on advertising and wait to see what Prosper will do about 'helping me double my initial investment after the 1st year'. A week ago I sent a letter of complaint to Devin and 2 other members of the sales team. Still waiting for a reply... I'll keep you posted. Cheryl Aylesbury
