Nouveau Tech Society
Neo-Tech Society ripoff

Education & Science

I've received at least four letters from the Nouveau Tech Society during 2005. The first letter I received from them was back in early July, and I got the same "confidential" letter from a "Kristen Hart", who claimed to be a member of the Nouveau Tech Society.

Of course, I'd never heard of this group, and in the letter, I was told that I was one of a very select group of people who have been contacted because of an alleged "profile" on me which had been studied by several members of the Society. I was offered a 56-page booklet, so I decided to send away for it, just out of curiosity. When I recieved the booklet, there was a letter from someone named "Sean McDermott" who was gushing over the fact that I agreed to be chosen by Nouveau Tech. The note also informed me that because I had recieved the booklet, "three very good things" would happen to me regarding money, power, love and being discovered.

Well, I did read the booklet (which was good for a few laughs), and none of those "three very good things" which were supposed to happen to me after I read the booklet happened. I was also surprised to see another form enclosed which read "This is not a bill", but underneath it was a order form to purchase the so-called "secret manuscript". As a person on a fixed income, I decided against spending $140.00 for a 1,000 page book, and I wrote them a letter politely telling them "thanks, but no thanks."

In October, I get another letter from these people telling me that they were desperate to have me join their ranks, and that they were waiving the 2-day response period so I could respond. I sent the letter to the roundfile (trash), and figured that this would be the end of it, but no... in mid-December, I get the same 8 page form letter from "Kristen Hart" with the same pitch I'd gotten in July.

Again, I got the same cheaply-printed booklet, the same "Sean McDermott" letter, the same order form, along with a different letter written by a "Jeff Hansen" informing me that I was allegedly engulfed in "double sine waves" (which had been discovered by someone named "Dr. Ian Smith" who allegedly worked as a Senior Research scientist for DuPont), and this made me of immense value to the Society.in response to this, I sent a letter back to them (in mid-December) informing them that if they were to send me another letter I would notify the authorities and press charges of harassement, false advertising and predatory practices against them.

I have yet to hear from them, but I'm glad I did research on them on the Internet, because after reading about their deceptive practices and scam tactics, I'm glad that I didn't send in any credit card info or a check.
