Wal-Mart SuperCenter Dangerous To Children!

A warning to anyone who shops with children. I was with my husband and two youngest children shopping at our local Wal-Mart. Our youngest (then almost 2) was sitting in the child seat with his restraint fastened.

Our 3 year old was walking beside the cart holding onto the side of it as we shopped. Everything seemed pretty normal until our 3 year old started SCREAMING! And I mean he was screaming as loud as he could! I was frantic especially when I saw the blood.

Apparently the metal grid around the cart was damaged and had pierced all the way through his finger! And to make matters worse he was stuck there with his little finger pinched between these rusty metal spikes! There was blood all over him and there was blood all over me. I didn't know what to do he was screaming so loud and the baby started crying because he was scared so I just did my best to free his little finger. I finally got it and all I wanted to do was pick him up but I was pregnant so I had to WALK him up to customer service.

I was so upset. But I didn't want to upset my son more than he already was so I just played it down and put a band-aid on his little finger hoping it would calm him a little. He still wanted his little cupcakes so we paid for them while we were waiting for a manager who walked us to our car and said he would dispose of the cart.

Fast forward a couple of weeks and guess who calls? Wal-Mart wants to settle. They leave a message on my answering machine stating that it was their fault and offer $200 for my sons medical bills, and pain and suffering. Apparently $200 is the going rate for screaming bloodied children wounded by a store's admitted negligence.
