Family Fun Pass - Half-Price TV Deceptive marketing, ignored Do Not Call registry ripoff

I recieved a call from Star Communications on November 22. Before the telemarketer got into her sale, I asked for my number to be taken off their list. She told me they weren't selling anything (lie!) but only offering the $500 shopping spree for a processing fee of $4.95. Against my better judgement I authorized a check by phone, went through their questions while they recorded the answers, and was told to expect my coupons in 3-6 business days.
Only after doing this did I check online to see if there was anything fraudulent about them — why didn't I do this first?! I immediately called my bank and stopped payment on the check, and then called the 3 numbers Star Communications gave me to update or cancel my services. I was told to call back on friday (nov. 25) but I was out of town, so monday the 28 I called — only to be told to call back again on tuesday. So this morning as soon as I got up I called and was able to cancel the services.
I'll be watching my bank account like a hawk to make sure no mystery charges appear.
The three phone numbers they gave me for customer service are:
(800) 357-9258 for Star Communiations
(800) 357-9238 for the Family Fun Pass
(800) 357-9241 for Half Price TV
