Ripoff, fraudulent billing

Education & Science

My story is much the same as the one I read on your website, dated February.

This foreigner called me up and offered me the 200 in grocery coupons, as a "reward" for being a good customer of my local stores. Talked real fast, could hardly understand him; before I knew it, he was asking me for a check number and routing number, and telling me to write some transit number on the bottom of my check. I actually hung up on him a couple of times because he wouldn't shut up and let me ask any questions, but he kept calling back, and they seem to know when they're catching you at a bad time, when you don't have time to argue with them and will say just about anything to get you off the phone.

Needless to say, nothing was said about withdrawing $119.00 out of my account, so when it disappeared, I called them right away and demanded my money back. They gave me a run around, telling me I needed to fill out a check refund authorization form, which I told him he had better put in the mail for me immediately.

Long story short, I spent the next 7 1/2 months calling these crooks, yelling at them on the phone, demanding that the money go back into my account immediately; I told them repeatedly that I knew it was basically about 4 of them sitting in some hole of a place, calling people up and stealing their money, and I wanted mine back. They kept telling me it would take 10-14 business days, and that it was being investigated and resent, etc.

Finally, I called again about a week ago, only to discover that their phone was no longer in service and had been disconnected. Pretty safe to assume I had been screwed.

I decided to go online and try to find out something about them, and was brought directly to this website about rip-off companies, their name being right on the main page.
