Ripoff, govt. Grant scam

Eric Williams called and said I was selected to recieve a $12,500 government grant, and the money would be transferred to my checking account the following Monday. There would only be a $49.95 membership fee for additional info and the money wouldn't be taken out until I recieved the grant money. Then after 7 days they would take $299 out for the Katrina relief fund. Like a sucker I gave him my checking info. Well I never recieved the money, but they did take the money out of my account. So, I called the co. Which was a bogus number, I called my bank and got the number from them. When I finally got ahold of the co. They said the money was not refundable and the info eric gave me was incorrect. So, I had to go to the bank and put a stop payment on it which cost me $38. At least I got the rest back. I will never give my information out over the phone again I definately learned my lesson.
