Paul 1 Of 4 Prizes Scam scam, U.S.A. City, State

Education & Science

On Friday, October 7th I received a call on my answering machine in the afternoon from a man named Paul that said I had won 1 of 4 great prizes, a car, television, money, etc. He left the phone number (877-256-7894) to call him back. Today, Tuesday, October 11, out of curiousity I did. I was on hold for about 10 minutes before anyone answered. A man answered and I asked to speak to Paul about a message I got on my answering machine. He said he was paul. He said he had to verify some information to make sure I was who I said I was. I first asked him how did I get picked. He said it was either at a mall, store, festival, or online contest. He couldn't even give me a straight answer. The first question out of his mouth was "are you married, single, divorced". I answered. Then he asked if I was over 25 yrs. Old. I'm not so I said no and then I heard "click". He hung up on me. I tried to call back several times and then I was on hold for at least 7-10 minutes and then it hung up on me. I read other places about this same scam after it already happened to me. If this is happening to other people too something needs to be done about it especiallyif they want credit card information.
