Won't let me un-enroll Ripoff

I have recently applied for and been accepted to AIU online. I wish I would have found this website before I got as far as I did. I had a feeling things were fishy when I was getting phone calls every day. I also thought it was strange that I was accepted on an application that was completed so quickly (and not my best work, I'm sure).

I started getting annoyed when I received an email a day saying my financial aid documents weren't complete. So I'd log back in, see they were complete and figure it was an error. But then I'd get another email. After repeated phone calls, this still hasn't been resolved.

I will admit I started getting 'buyer's remorse' when I saw the amounts of the loans and started calculating when I was going to have to start paying them back.

My husband and I recently decided our finances are a mess and we're going to work really hard at getting out of debt. So we decided it was best not go back to school at this time. Even though that debt won't be due for a while, I knew it would still loom over my head.

So by now I'm pretty stressed about the whole thing... I definately don't want to add school work on top of my money stress. So I called AIU and asked that my application be pulled. And he told me exactly what a script said on one of these posts. He used my reason for wanting to go back to school against me... With the degree I'll make more money, pay of debt quicker, etc, etc.

So he basically talked me out of it and I didn't want to get it to it at that time, becasue he, of course, called me at work. So now I need to get a backbone and try this again.

Once I do and if I'm even successful at removing my enrollment, I do have a question. How do I handle the Financial Aid? I have been 'awarded' Federal and Sallie Mae loans and I don't know how to stop them. If anyone reads this and has any advice, please post it.
