Lying Dog Swindlers Ripoff

Education & Science

I wish I'd known about your site January because it would have saved me from an $8,000 swindle perpetrated by JGB Enterprises, Inc.in Las Vegas, NV.

In January I received one of their "Award Guarantee" letters, along with a "Certificate of Guarantee".in order to claim my prize, I had to call their number and read them the promotional code. It said I could win a 2005 Saturn Ion II or $15,000.00 cash, a certificate for two round-trip plane tickets, a 2005 wide screen color TV system, or $1,500.00 in cash. I should have realized something was amiss, since they don't do several things in their "promotion" literature:

1. They don't state that purchase isn't necessary.

2. They don't state purchase will not improve your chances of winning.

3. They don't list the quantity of each prize being offered (for example, like stating there are 100 travel certificates).

When I called, they told me all about what prizes I could win, but first, I needed to cut a check for $500 to "pay for 250 gel pens to promote your business." I had to ship it via FedEx.

The next month, a guy named Chuck Marone was "assigned to me" as a liason of sorts. He told me all about the "Cash Bonus Program, " and specifically stated that purchase was necessary in order to enter. According to the FTC, such a thing constitutes an illegal lottery that all 50 states and the federal government has outlawed.

I'm staring at one of their "Cash Bonus Program" letters right now as I type this. They boast that $18,000 is given away each month, that $3000 was awarded at the end of November $5000 was awarded at the end of January $10,000 was awarded at the end of April and lastly, $50,000 would be awarded at the end of June.

I remember distinctly a conversation I had with Chuck Marone in April. He said "I fell out of my chair when I heard the news Mia! I can't tell you how much you've won, but you've won! The guy that writes the checks will be contacting you soon, so sit back and enjoy it!" Meanwhile I was asked to cut a check for $2,400 for more products and a "chance" in their "drawing".

Near the end of June, their "check writer" guy called. His name was Chris Cousins. He congratulated me profusely, called me a big winner, the same spiel many of you have experienced. He told me that the check would arrive by the middle of July, and that I'd won the $50,000.

I called Chris on July 17. I asked him where the check was, because he said it would have arrived by then. He told me that I needed to cut yet another $2,400 check for more products before they would mail the check! When I tried reminding him that I'd won, he tried saying I hadn't, that it takes 14-21 days for it to arrive, or 30 days, or anything to get his butt out of the fire. None of that crap was true. And when I told him I couldn't afford to pay anything else, he told me point-blank that he'd inform the owner that I wasn't interested! Now why in the blue blazes wouldn't I be interested in $50,000 that I supposedly had already won in June and the jerks renegged on?

Well, it's now August 16. No check. No $50,000. The only thing I have is an $8,000 hole in my bank account and products that aren't improving my business potential one whit! When I feel ready, I'm going to file a complaint with my Attorney General and the FTC, although that probably won't help one bit.

A note to small business owners: Throw out anything pertaining to JGB Enterprises, Inc. Come January. It is a scam that you will live to regret! If you bother referring to their web site at jgbenterprisesinc.com you'll note that they don't list *any* prices with their "promotional materials" that they sell you. That way they can charge you whatever they feel like!
