Dishonest, fraudulent, thieves, slander RIPOFF

Education & Science

I was recently fired from a company where I served as the office manager. My duties included everything from marketing, to accounting, to HR and Payroll.

I called in sick on a Thursday morning, and when I went in Friday, my boss told me that since I was a "no call, no show" that I had quit. Colorado law states that if an employee is terminated they have to be paid in full immediatly. If you quit they have until the next pay day.

Since there seemed to be some "confusion" as to whether I was fired or quit. I just waited until the next pay period. That was Friday the 8th. When I went to go pick up my check, there were 2 biker guys waiting in the front office with my former boss. She handed me a check for 2 weeks pay (she still owes me for 2 weeks) and had deducted $200.00 from my check to turn off my Nextel phone that they provided me with.

I never signed anything agreeing to that when they gave me the phone, nor was it ever mentioned to me.
My fiance had also worked there and had come to pick up his final check, she told him that the company didn't owe him anything, that he was paid in full. (They owe him for 5 days work, and we have proof of that) We left, furious. We expected to pick up almost $1,000 and left with less that $400.00.

On Monday, we received a letter stating that due to our "vicious behavour" we were no longer allowed on the premesis and would be arrested if we tried. On Tuesday, I received a phone call from a police officer who told me that I was a suspect in a felony crime, and if I refused to come to the station to speak with him, he would have no choice but to arrest me. Obviously, I went to the police station.

Apparently, my former boss called this officer and told him that I had forged a check for $200.00, and cashed it. AND, that I had keyed her car. (She says she watched me do that) Since I had copies of other checks with her signature on them, (and since the check was completely handwritten, and obviously not my handwriting) he not only let me go, but promised me that she would be seeing criminal court for making a false police report. He also insinuated that she had called my ex-husband (who I am currently involved in a custody case with) and told him that I was going to jail for check fraud.

Later that afternoon, the officer called me again, and said that he had just spoken to my former boss and she told him that I was making harassing phone calls, and hangup calls all day long. Apparently made herself out to be some poor, scared, pathetic creature and I'm going to do something awful to her. (I'm 5'2 and weigh 100 lbs.) Because he warned me that if "it" continued it would be harassment and I would go to jail for it. But, I have not called her since the morning I picked up my check.

This woman is sick. She's not above filing a false police report, and sending someone to jail! Check fraud is a felony, and if I hadn't been able to prove that I hadn't done anything wrong. I could be sitting in jail right now. Top that off with, they still owe me over $500.00, and about $300.00 to my fiance and I think they may be up for a RIP OFF award of the year!
