C.A.A.S. Ripoff scam mailings stating u won $525,439 send $21.95 to process

Education & Science

Recieved in the mail "official" looking letter dated 4/12/05 sent to my personal po box opened in 9/04 stating that I was a sweepstakes winner of $525,439. Letter request me to sign and send in $21.95 processing fee postage handling to address listed above in Nevada. That there was no purchase necessary, but nothing stating that they were selling anything or associated with any particular company. Well, thats alot of $ for a little bit to risk. However send someone a check and they now have your router and account info, which could cost way more if criminals decided to wipe out your account. I work as a bill collector I have heard to many horror stories of that happening to good people.

Now, my address is new, I have a cell phone and all my personel information with my creditors is suppose to be protected and locked from being sold. Not to mention, I could not remember filiing out any recent sweepstakes. How did I win this money I asked myself? How did they get my information?

After making some calls I talked to a lady at the local US post office postmaster in las vegas who stated that they had many complaints and were very familiar with the contents of my letter. The better business bureau list the Company as starting in 1/01, local in nv in 9/02,87 complaints filed with them. States that the physical address is 2525 n Decatur Blvd # 3, las vegas NV no zip. The post master stated that was a suite, somewhere someone was just renting space. I have filed a complaint w / the US postal consumer affairs. This is such a scam, why would anyone need $21.95 to process a winning of $525,439 when that could be deducted easily from the prize. And with that kind of money any company giving that away would not just send a check with no taxes deducted out of it. That's all got to be reported to the IRS. The call back # is always buzy (not toll free) but when I did get threw got a series of beeps then the call was disconnected (answering machine?).

The worst part of it is these people are holding out false hope to people by promising a big windfall for alittle bit to risk. $21.95 not to much to risk but collect that times 100's or 1000's and it starts adding up. Besides after looking at the complaints here supposely the company has promised over 300 million to just the 40 people here who have complained on this site. I hope they get caught and prosecuted! What a scam!!!
