Stole $257 for a handbook rip-off. Lied I was approved for an $8,000 grant, instead sent a thick handbook on filing paperwork for various grants that is impossible to do

I get a phone call saying that I was approved for an $8,000 grant that I didn't have to pay back, but there will be a fee of $257.00. Also, they said that I will receive a check in the mail in about 6-8 months and, if not, to call them and they will refund my money. First of all, they sent me a huge handbook which explains in detail the process of filing for a grant at various companies and second they took my money and gave me the wrong contact information. I tried calling the number given but it wouldn't go through.

I have no way of contacting them and I am $257.00 short which is like a lifetime of savings as a college student. Companies like that should not jip college students or anybody in such a fraudulent manner. I want my money back and the company to be sued.
