Beware of young adults going door to door selling magazines/books for charity under the
company named upsi - ultimate power sales.inc.

Their story is that they live down the street and belong to a local soccer team and attended my local high school... All not true!
The young woman that came to our door on 02-15-05 was so convincing!

She said i'm jennifer and i live down the street she even told me the house number - which was another lie.
I'm embarrassed to say that my husband and i completely fell for her story.

Unfortunately my next door neighbor did too!
I expressed to her my concerns about her being out after dark - 8:00P.M. She said her girlfriend was going to pick her up but she hadn't arrived yet and she was worried her friend forgot. She went to our neighbor - the last house she had to go to she said. She came back to our house and said her girlfriend had not arrived and could she use our phone to call her dad. I thought i was helping a neighbor's child!

She got a piece of paper out of her purse and said her father had a new cell phone number and she hadn't had a chance to memorize it. She called the number - said "hi dad" - "have you left yet?" "when will you be here?" "i love you too dad" - "i miss you too dad!" her face was turning all shades of red while she looked me in the eyes!
This is when i knew we had been duped.

She said thank you for letting her use our phone. I asked her if she was one of those kids that comes in a van and gets dropped off into different neighborhoods - she said oh no, i don't know what you mean! She went to the corner to wait for her ride.

My husband went outside to see who picked her up - a new white van full of young people arrived - when she saw my husband she motioned to the driver to back up down the street - she got into the van and it sped off.
Unfortunately my husband did not get the license plate number. While this was going on i hit redial on my phone and the number was a georgia phone number - area code 678
i talked to the man that answered... Surprise! He was the driver of the van!!! I demanded my check back and my neighbors check too - he said he was on the freeway - he was not about to come back and to f%@k off! - condensed version of our conversation!

I called the police - an officer came to our home - i explained what happened - he advised us to stop payment on the check - a $20.00 fee - sigh
