Ripoff they lied, mislead, and wasted my time immoral company

Apon arriving at the Meriam Marketing offices I was excited to learn more about the company, since I could not find any information on the internet. I was greeted and shortly afterwards was brought into a room to be interviewed.

The interview went well and that evening I was called and told that I was invited back for a second "interview." It was during the second "interview" when I began to realize that Meriam Marketing is an immoral company that opperates under a misleading facade.

The second "interview" was not an interview at all. They set me up with one of their sales drones and one of his trainees to find out what I would be doing if hired. They sent us to a Wal-Mart in a seedy part of town to attemt to solicit money from the lower-middle class people walking out of the store. We were to sell D.A.R. E (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) videos, t-shirts, and other merchandise in order to "market" their name. What we were really doing was making people feel bad for not buying these useless comodities, and on occasion getting a sale as a result of guilt.

I have nothing against keeping kids away from drug abuse, but the D.A.R.E.organizatin and the people who contribute to D.A.R.E. (through Meriam) should realize that they are being scammed by Meriam Marketing as well. D.A.R.E. Should realize that part of the part of the profits made in front of that Wal-Mart go into keeping a corupt marketing company afloat. The people who give donations in that sort of situation should realize that their contribution to their society should not be triggered by guilt. It should be an honest decision based on the duty to do good for ones community.

Nevertheless, about fifteen minutes after we arrived I asked to borrow one of the drones' cell phone and called a cab, since I was stuck there until 5:00 that evening without a jacket or any idea of how we were helping the community. The cab took me back to the Meriam Marketing offices where I immediately walked into the office of the very important and deceitful head manager.

When I entered the office I began to explain to him that I felt mislead and that I did not agree with their sales methods. He responded by telling me that only one in five-thousand people feel the way I do and that he explained everything very clearly to me in the beginning. Since it is pretty hard to argue with someone who is lying to your face I then asked him to be compensated for the cab ride, which he did.

After leaving the offices I was left with a feeling of disgust that a company would treat its employees, customers, and most important of all the society that it operates within in such a way. Maybe they view doing business with non-profit companies as a way to repair their already tarnished image. Maybe they are completely naive to the connotations of the word ethics. Regardless, they are definately a manipulative company that uses the greed of the working man to take advantage of the guilt respectable American citizens.
