Louisiana Rent To Return Fraud

They rent you furniture. They will call and threaten a legal action or repo after 3 days late.
They appear to try and maintain used stock from repos in order to save from purchasing new items and making a perpetual rental from their furniture to prevent actual end owners.
Essentially they rent it and look for ways to get it back to re rent it. That will leave them open to fees and continuing interest payments but no owners or loss of stock except through desctruction.
After 11 days late they will send a letter demanding the return on the furniture.
If you agree to return it and try to schedule a pick up they then refuse looking for you to pay the bill first.
Well I offered to pay the bill at the pick up time and was told no.
They then tell me that it has been turned over to "I quote" the Sherriff and the lawyers.
I had no emails or messages from any calls during that time period.
So I assumed no big deal I should'nt have gone there and would like to cancel.
But they refused trying to get a payment. But is that payment to secure the furniture for me.
He said it would give me more time to schedule a pick up but it has been turned over to the authorities.
The 11 days was quoted back to me as 14 days during that conversation.
The goal with a situation like that is to glean every dollar from people that they can before they cancel or are forced to return the furniture on a very quick basis.
They will take that furniture and re rent it as soon as they get it and start the process over again.
I have rented before and was teated like an owner and had no problems from another company like them.
I would be amased if they have any happy paid off customers that are sitting around enjoying the purchase they made with Rent One.
I did not see any new furniture in the store, just repos.
