Hawks home center never completed my home and demanded pay off

Never use this company! They don't finish what they start. Our home should have been completed in 4 months, but they would only come work on it once a week. They made up excuse after excuse why they couldn't get the job completed. The weather was excellent so they can't use that as an excuse. Our house burned down last year and they knew we only had a 6 month lease in the apartment we were staying in. That is all the insurance would cover because they knew there was no reason our home should not be completed by then. We have 3 kids and several pets. They knew our lease ran out and we had to be in the home by a set date. They didn't care. They were not going to pay for any additional living expenses while they took their time doing nothing. We had no choice but to move in an unfinished house.

There workmanship is terrible. Everything in the house is falling apart. The railing actually fell off the front porch causing one of my children to be injured! Several pipes turned out to be leaking and now we find out mold is starting to grow under our house due to all the standing water. All the drywall is cracking and coming arart in every room! The floors are ruined due to the leaking tubs. Our cabinet doors don't match and are also falling apart. The roof is also leaking because they didn't put felt paper in the valleys. There is so much more but not nearly enough room to fit it all. Susie wood is very rude and unprofessional. They will not even return our phone calls to even try to resolve these problems. They make customeers think they have to do exactly as they say or they will never move in their house. They expect all the money for the house way before completing any steps in the contract.

I do believe they were trying to take advantage of the situation we were in. They thought we should just hand them all the money before the house was even completed! They tried to threaten us by saying we would never get in our house. No smart person sould ever pay for something in full before the job is 100% completed. Especially a house!!!
