Brass Garden Hose Nozzle Broke After Two Uses, No Refund

I am reporting concerns about the poor quality of an item, a spray nozzle, 262-613 adjustable brass nozzle for a garden hose, which cost 7.67 before tax. The maker of the item uses two pieces and covers the fact with plastic to hide it. I used the nozzle twice, for three bags of cement and to wash a garage floor, all within a three-day period. It broke beneath the plastic, which was added to cover a threaded joint.

I went to the store to get information. Since I had thrown away the proof of purchase, I could not expect my money back, and they offered none. The box with the items was no longer out on the shelf in the gardening section, nor anywhere around. I requested the item number, etc., so I could report the lack of quality and save others from throwing away their money.
