I would not reccommend carrier heat pumps, an expensive mistake

PLEASE NOTE: This complaint is a combined complaint concerning also poor installation and a poor unreliable, uneconomical product from Carrier.

4 ton heat package unit heat pump.

issues experienced:
circuit breaker popping, higher amperage one added
insufficient heat in house adco call out.
Super high heating bills @$600 mth.
Still not enough heat, adco called out.
We are told, furnace and heatpump not working in tandem, adco repairs.
Homeowner checked ductwork, both flexible ductwork has completely come away from main duct nearest to unit. Fixed myself
ductwork needs other extensive repairs in other areas going up under home fix myself. Adco tells us they no longer employ the ones who installed it.
Unit not working at all, adco finds water inside cabinet, water is drained out and they get it working again.
Unit is sitting on a pad not level, on an angle.
T/stat panel replaced by adco.
A/c not working adco called out. Now out of labor warranty.
Heat not working again, not repaired.
Start of this summer '12 ; unit not working well, short cycling? Big loud noise, it appears condenser fan has fell off inside.
Call out vance heating and air llc. They replace fan and flush condenser out, a/c now works
heat has not worked in over a year.
6/19 unit is making loud noises, and tripping out. Finally compressor lets go, with loud noise.
Unit is dead and beyond economical repair.

After speaking to Carrier's senior representative, named Bruce, and explaining my case; I'm told that He spoke to Adco and I should have had annual maintenance carried out. And there is nothing they can do.in my defence I said Adco has moved away from our town 2 yrs ago or more. Adco never told me that. Carrier rep said; 'well you have had it 4yrs now, and thats a reasonable amount of time.' I said no, ive had it 3 and a half. And the heat worked a fraction of that time. The Rep said 'well theres nothing we can do.' no apologies nothing.
