Rent-A-Center
Ripoff / Failure to comply with Florida Rental-Purchase Agreement Act, Effective Since: 1988

Construction & Repair

Attn Customer Service, July 28

This is in referece to store #569 in Bradenton Florida 1113 Cortez Rd West.

My account with them is always changing. What I mean is that just about everytime I come into there store, my day of payment is always late due to them switching our day which we pay on. I had told them several times that I can only make it in on Tuesday. I have had it with trying to be civil with them, so now I am taking legal action. They call me 3 or 4 times a day, bother my girlfriend at work, and almost costing her job. We also told them that several times not to call her work, and they still insist on calling there. If that persists, and she loses her job for non emergency phone calls, We will take legal action on that as well.

I have talked with the police in Bradenton and filed a report with them on the harrassing calls. I am still receiving phone calls which led to a police report I filed and the phone company is tracing these calls for proof:

I feel my rights have been violated. Regardless if I may or may not have been in total structure of the rental contract agreement I signed. I am very sorry for being a little late on payments but I don't feel the conduct of your store in Bradenton Florida was professional in any means and by far is a frightening experience for me and my family.

I had full intent to come in and take care of this account matter. Now I am perplexed as to what I should do with the Threats and or coercion in reference to my account and merchandise under these circumstances. I do not want to lose my merchandise but after the managers arrogance on the telephone, I simply informed him that I would seek and attorney's advice on this issue. I have not obtained and attorney as of yet. The merchandise is excellent condition as I stated to the store manager. I am not a criminal and should not be treated like one.

You are in violation of Section 805 of The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, and Florida Rental-Purchase Agreement Act, Effective Since: 1988, therefore I demand that you:

Finally in closing to my report before you I would like to tell you that Rent A Center has NEVER written me a letter. It is July 28. All they do is call my house and visit my home.

This is the second and last time I am sending this letter. I sent the first one online on the 28th day of July.
