This roofing system was guaranteed to be the best possible solution to our coastal climate, we have found the gurantee is worthless

This roof was guranteed by the installer to withstand wind speeds to 140 miles per hour. This was during his presentation that was witnessed by our general contractor and some friends who were also considering this roofing system. Of course we did not receive the actual guarantee until after the roof was completely installed and paying 38,000.00. At the receipt of the guarantee from the headquarter company we found the roof was actually guarenteed for winds of 120 miles per hour. After receiving the written gurantee We were also told by the installer that he would come and replace the tiles if wind speeds were under the 140 mile but over the 120 mile limit.

Since that time we have had several tiles come loose with wind speeds up to only 60 miles per hour. The first time it happened we could not contact the origianller installer. He refused to answer the phone. After calling the headquarter company they contacted him and he did come back to repair the tiles. He claimed that this was caused by tree limbs sweeping the roof. This was a dubious cause to me as the limbs were very small and light weight. But, just to be sure we had them removed professionally.

Since then we have the same issue, a recent really strong storm with wind gusts to 70 miles per hour that have resulted in lifted roofing tiles. Again I was unable to get the installer to return my calls. I did call the company and they said they were not responsible for this type problem as it sounded like installer error. I expalined the wind storm and again they claimed they had no responsibility for this problem. Note the original installer has gone out of business but does live in the area. Headquarters representatives stated they would not contact him and offer him money to do the repair. They suggested that I contact one of their installers that lives 7 hours from our location to do this repair at of course our expense.

My advice is Do not use this company. They do not seem to live up to their responsibilities and also allow their installer's to falsely advertise the benefits of this roofing systems.
