Hayward Pool Pumps Lack of quality control. Pumps fail half way thru the season. Have done so for the past 6 years

I have owned sbove ground swimming pools for over 30 years, and have always used Hayward pool pumps, because they lasted and worked efficiently. Over the past 6 years or so, we have had to replace the pump half way through the season every year... The seals fail, the motor quits, or there is some other major malfunction and we find ourselves at the middle of the season with no pump for the pool. I could understand one or two failures, but this has happened every year for the past 6 years. If you are considering buying an above gound pool and do not want to spend several hundred dollars each year for a new pump, you would be well advised to avoid anything made by the Hayward company. I have several friends who also have had the exact same problem with both the Hayward above ground power flo and the in ground pumps... It is a shame that a once great company has chosed to toss its quality control out...
