Ripped us off... Lied... Cheated us... Kept $2000 deposit

Signed a contract with Rockford. They said specifically if we need to back out for ANY reason, we would receive our $2000 deposit back. They did not even put a hole in the ground... Didn't even take the For Sale sign out of the lot, and we had to cancel. They said we would receive the check within 2 weeks. THEN, they called and said they were keeping $500 for filing the permit. (which they said they still had never received). Then they called a few days later to tell us they were keeping the full $2000 deposit and we could "go ahead and sue" if we wanted. Great business practices, huh?
