A nightmare. Hiring Cornerstone Construction and Jack Toki has cost us many sleepless nights and about twice as much money as we bargained for. Over three months of anguish for a three-week project.

We hired this company to relandscape our back yard. They showed us a nice portfolio and did pretty drawings of our yard before we hired them. They asked for money up front and continued to ask for money until we realized we were on the verge for paying for the entire project. Then they disappeared leaving our back and front yards torn up, parts of our
house damaged from being smashed by equipment, part of the yard used as a toilet, and piles of debris and waste everywhere.

We ultimately paid them more than the contract price and are left with having to hire another company to fix the damage and finish the project. We did everything we could to work with them, but they took advantage of us.

They are tricky because they are actually quite skilled and may start a project well before they claim to run out of money and either get you to pay more than they are due or abandon the job.

Too bad we only found the other consumer complaints on them after they had already abandoned us. Maybe by filing this report, we can adequately warn the next potential victim before it's too late. We have become a pariah in our new neighborhood because of all the mess.
