Furniture store ripoff took my money took forever to deliver delivered damaged merchandise voided warranty wouldnt repair

Went to The Furniture Store, who claimed to have "rent to own" terms, at discount prices, with quality merchandise.

I ordered a table & chairs, put 25% down, they were to be delivered in 10 days. Two months and oodles of phone calls later, no furniture. They claimed that it was their "warehouse" problem. I had no more patience. They would not give me a refund, only a credit toward something else. I chose another dining set, and a living room, with 3 tables.

Living & 3 tables was delivered about a week later (supposed to have been the next day). Dropped it off when I wasnt home, with only my 10 year old daughter home. Left it on the patio. We came home, brought it in. As soon as someone sat on it, the seam split. Called them, they said they would pick it up & fix it no charge. (Furniture was supposed to be under warranty for one year or as long as we were financing, whichever was longer).

They picked it up 3 days later. Got a phone call after another 3 days, saying that the tear was our fault, and that it would cost $50 to fix it. They added the amount to my financed amount, (I did not consent to this). We had the couches about 3 months, and the cushions were all caved in. Called the store they said that they aren't built for heavy people. We are not heavy people!!! We are all of average size & build & they saw what size we were when we bought the furniture!!! If we were too "heavy" they should have told us then!!!

On to the tables. They were delivered damaged. All scratched up & loose. (USED!!!) I paid for new. I asked the store. They claimed that happened during delivery & they would order a new set. Many many calls, no new tables. 7 months later, still no new tables.

The chairs took nearly 3 months to come in. I am happy with the quality of these.

Talked to Kathy & Scott about dissatisfaction in the living room set & tables. They said there is nothing they can do. So I said, come get it... I dont want the junk, and that I wasnt paying anymore. (Since they were "rent to own" terms, this should have been allowed). They said no. I gave them 3 weeks to set a pickup date. They avoided me. I said you can pick it up or it will go to the trash on Wednesday (this was a Friday). They said they would pick it up on Monday, never showed up. Furniture went to the trash on Wednesday.

They called a couple times for payments. I said I wasnt sending anymore. The amount of money I paid more than paid the chairs off in full & the rest was trash. They did not respond regarding picking up the furniture, so they were out of luck. She kept calling. I sent a letter to them, reiterating the above information, and have not heard from them since.
