Rooms 2 Go
Ripoff! They ripped my mom off, but I gave them a second chance. Big mistake

Construction & Repair

Why are these CLOWNS still in business. Daily, unsuspecting shoppers stumble upon the shady practices of Rooms 2 Go. Well my story begins when I got a gutzy feeling when I went to purchase a bedroom set due to my relocation.

My mom warned my dad and and I about buying from R2G. She actually spoke from experience, since a couch once purchased from there had to be thrown away after just a few short years. Her words lingered in my head as we walked round-and-round the show floor. I really did not like any of the sets, but I had to pick something out, since I was leaving the very next day.

Once in Atlanta, I waited 2 weeks for my furniture (in the meantime I slept on the floor). I figured, 2 weeks was way too long to wait for furniture, since it took them 2 minutes to take my money. Finally the day came where I received my brand new set. Oh yeah, it looked good on the outside, but would it stand up to the test?

First of all, R2G brought the bed with a broken head board. I should have run away screaming at that point, but noooo. I figured they'd stand by their product. They arranged to redeliver my headboard.in the meantime, they propped the side railing up on bricks and phone books. After 2 weeks, they brought my new headboard. The quality of the wood was not impressive at all. It had a stained look to it, unlike my previous headboard. I inquired about switching it out, but they ignored me by not returning any of my service calls.

Time goes on and I noticed the wood on the side railing peeling off. Well since I was the only one sleeping in the bed, I figured it would be okay. But as days passed, more and more fell off, and I hadn't even touched it for crying out loud!!!

I called R2G, the sent out a guy to "examine" the bed. I asked him what he was writing down. He showed me, and it was just notes about the condition of the bed. When the report got back to R2G, I had supposedly "pulled the wood up on purpose." Why would I do such a destructive thing to a $2,000 set? Well I am sure that was a way for them to try to pacify the customer, you know, by sending this so-called R2G worker to look at the product.

I received a call days later from a R2G worker in Florida whose name was supposed to be "Maria", when I asked for her last name she said it was "O" and that's all I needed to know—she said. She told me that the damage to the railing was intentional, so they would not be replacing it. I stated some of my concerns, one being that since it was so new, I thought it would at least last until I finished paying for it!!! She began yelling at me, and of course being the woman that I am, I yelled back. I truly hope all of this conversation was being recorded, but I see now that it would have made no difference. She finished off by saying that they would not replace it. I would have to pay to have it replaced, end of discussion.

I called to complain on "Miss Maria O", but I got no call back. I even had to pretend to be a friend of the manager to get the secretary to let me speak with him. To no avail. He said he would take care of it and didn't. It was the worst buying experience in my life (next to the overly aggressive Brinks guy, but that's another story). I truly understand what people are going through. Buyer Bewarrreeee!
