Donahue & Joseph Builders Took our money and abandoned the job, new construction for a disabled homeowner - left a mess of work to be redone

We hired David Donahue (the only person at Donahue & Joseph Builders) to build our house, which was designed specifically for my wife's disability. He had only one guy on the job for months, made a ton of mistakes, and then literally abandoned the job although he was paid in full for work that was never completed.inspectors told us that much of the work was done improperly and has to be redone. We had ignorantly paid David in full for many of the bids, as he told us the work had been completed and we believed him, but it was not. And as stated, the work that was done had to be redone. He breached the contract, screwed up the work, stole our money, kept promising to make everything right but then ended up telling us he's filing for bankruptcy and no longer going to work in this industry. Apparently that wasn't true either as he's building for another person right now. This company, this guy, is what gives the contracting industry a bad name. Now we have to sue him but will likely get nothing because he's the kind of guy who seems like he'd find a way to hide the money he took. The worst part - the reason we were building is because my wife has a severe disability that requires a special home. Now we not only have no money left, but we have nowhere safe for her to live. He has completely destroyed our lives. At the least, I want to warn others so no one else goes through this...
