Damen Marin Slick front-end sales pitch, horrible follow-thru

I made the mistake of not checking this company out online. Damen is slick. Very slick. He comes off as professional, competent and legitimate. I asked if his company could start a few days after we agreed on a price. I was entertaining and needed the house cleaned for a Saturday nite and he was able to accomodate in that he sent someone Saturday morning. He was supposed to come and get the cleaner started but he was hung up on an 'emergency' in Estes Park and never showed. Since he accomodated my request to start on short notice, I ended uppaying $140 instead of $120 as a good will gesture.

Latoya showed up, worked for4 hours but did a terrible job. It was comical, yet sad that I was paying money for this sham and that she was so ill-equipped to perform her job. I redirected her twice but to no avail (for example, she did not sweep before mopping, she just mopped, making a huge mess... I have five cats). Upon noticing the filthy mop-bucket water she intended to use to do the master bathroom floor, I requested she change the water before putting it on the floor. She did not. Things were left undone and the floors were in a bad state... Despite her four hour effort.

I called Damen. He said that he absolutely believed me and that he would make it right by cleaning the house for free. Latoya even apologized before she left saying "Sorry if it's not good". I needed her out of the house so I could clean it up. I am not a hard-nose but not a pushover either. I felt that I had established a clear line of communication with Damen, he said he would take care of it and I believed him. I never heard back from him to reschedule for two weeks later. I finally called. His brother Andrew took the call letting me know Damen was in California... He had left unexpectedly but I would certainly hear from him soon. I have not.

Based on what I have readatcomplaint and other gripe sites, I got off lucky. Damen seems to think that a 'refund' is an offer toprovide another round of his crappy services at no charge. No, arefund is when you return the fundsyou took based on an agreement to provide competentservices in my house. Thankfully, he can only screw so many people before his reputation catches up with him.

Damen - NOBODY gets away with anything in this life. Not really. Someday, when your life and business have taken a dump, just remember that you brought it all on yourself. Call it Karma or whatever you want... The universe exacts justice on people like you. I am able to let go of any resentmentfor you ripping me off and lying to me because I know with certainty that what comes around goes around. It was only $140 but I suspect you are out much more than that. Being a tool is a cumulative condition.
