Install is fine but don't use for tile removal because it is money down the drain

Construction & Repair

I spent several months searching for the right flooring store to do a job I knew would be huge and require a great deal of expertise: Tearing up a great deal of tile that was very slippery in a house in order to install new, non - or less-slippery tile and carpet. When I found Arizona Flooring Solutions, I believed I had the right company.

Prior to the job being started, I asked one of the owners of the company whether the workers were subcontractors. He told me that the workers were actually employed by the company. I told him that I was aware that these types of companies typically used subs, but again the owner/salesperson insisted the workers who would be doing the job in my house were with Arizona Flooring Solutions. That was Lie No. 1.

Having been in many situations in which ceramic tile flooring was being torn up, I know that the job can generate a huge amount of silicate dust, shards and fragments, so I asked the owner/salesperson I was dealing with about the preparation work I needed to do.in fact, I asked him the question dozens of times. "Should I cover this?" "Do I need to cover that?" "Are you sure about what you're telling me?" Not only had I, in the past, taped plastic sheeting over cabinets so that the dishes inside would not be affected by silicate dust, but I also sealed off heating registers and vents.in fact, there is an excellent article on how to prepare for having a ceramic tile floor removed at this link: http://www.ehow.com/how_5601769_prepare-up-old-ceramic-tile.html.

Yet Arizona Flooring Solutions never provided me with this information no matter how many times I asked the owner/salesman how I should prepare for the tile removal. His reply was always, "They'll take care of it. You don't have to worry about anything." "They'll take care of it."

When the subs were here, of course they told me that they were subcontractors and they also informed me that the man I had spoken with "didn't know anything" because he was a salesman. As for them "taking care" of properly preparing the house for the tile tear out/demolition, they barely taped plastic sheeting over the kitchen cabinets, which was and is still obvious by how much dust is still inside the cabinets.in fact, there is tile dust all over the house, in every crack and crevice, tile dust in places I can't even reach.

While I recommend Arizona Flooring Solutions for their products, prices and quality of installation, I would never recommend them or use them for any type of flooring removal because they don't know how to prepare a home for ceramic tile removal, they don't know how to train their subcontractors to properly prepare a home for tile demo or they don't know how to find information to give to homeowners so that the homeowners can properly prepare their residence for tile demo since the subcontractors won't do the prep work.
