Ripoff Dishonest, Uncaring, Cheap, Will build your house in 2 years, says "sue me" You do not want this headache. It is like dealing with the devil himself

In the Spring of we signed a contract with Scarsdale Homes, Inc. To build our home. The developer, Frank Morelli gave us a completion date of Winter. The foundation was not poured until the Fall of 2002.

By end of winter the home was, at this point, under roof. We were given another completion date early spring 2003.

By summer the windows were installed. The developer, Mr. Morelli, no longer sent us letters with completion dates.in fact, in summer the permits on our home expired and Mr. Morelli now owes the city a fine. We do not anticipate our home being completed any time soon. Although we have been told, six more weeks twice.

We anticipate waiting a full year after the first completion date, which means it takes this developer at least (a minimum of 1.5 years to build a home). This is outrageous. He has been in business for at least 40 years.in fact, his credit is so bad, local businesses will not deal with him because he doesn't pay his bills. Our attorney has been sending him letters for months. He initially would not return any phone calls. His attitude is: "so sue me".

We have spoken to many of the neighbors, who all have horror stories of their own to tell.in fact, one neighbor told us that a "friend" of Frank Morelli's told them, "he is a well hated man". Neighbors are contemplating filing a class action suit against him.

We are also questioning the quality of his work. A story in a local paper last Spring reported that homes which he built in another community are now suffering mold damage under the siding. This is because Mr. Frank Morelli did not properly "wrap" the homes before siding them.

The homeowners are now spending thousands of dollars repairing their homes and have filed a class action law suit against Frank Morelli. He was quoted in the paper, "it will cost homeowners just a much to sue me as it does for them to repair their homes".

He just does not care at all about his clients. He only cares about their money. He does not return calls, refuses to do work which is stated in the contract, loses specifications and expects more money. He is by far one of the lowest individuals to deal with. We are certainly sorry that we came in contact with his company.

We beg of anyone in the market to build a new home. Run as fast as you can in the opposite direction if you see a "Scarsdale Homes, Inc." sign. You do not want this headache. It is like dealing with the devil himself.
