Faulty Heate

A Heat Surge Heater was bought by Mrs. Clarence Murphy in January. It was an amish style fireplace. The heater insert was a Heat Surge heater inside. When Mrs. Murphy received it, she found it to be to big for the area she wanted to use it in. I (Don Bridgers) bought it from her in a couple of days. The unit had never been run. The company claims it was a scratch and dent item. Mrs. Murphy said she bought it as a new item. The price on it was $247.00.

The unit stopped running a couple of days ago. It has only been run for about 60 days. I called the Heat Surge company about an hour ago. They claimed it was only a 90 day warrenty on it. I told them that this heater in most cases has a 3 year warrenty on it. The heater should run more than 60 days no matter what the warrenty was. She admitted that it could have been a faulty heater. They want to charge me an additonal $175.00 for a new insert which i refused to do. Another party was put on the phone and all I got was the same excuses as to why they could not replace it. I told them this was a faulty heater and they should stand behind it. All I want is the heater replaced.
