Takes Customer Beds and Furniture Kansas City

Nebraska Furniture Mart is a Midwest Mega Store selling furniture, electronics, computers, household items, appliances and media based in Nebraska with locations in Kansas, and Iowa. The retail giant would be the equivalent of a Super Walmart moving into locations where the store typically puts smaller mom and pop stores out of business due to the large offering of products and volume pricing. Nebraska Furniture Mart offers a store branded credit card with 0% interest promotions to customers through regular TV and direct mail advertising.

As the economy slowed and people lost their jobs Nebraska Furniture Mart began an extremely aggressive collections campaign hiring lawyers to sue thousands of customer. Law firms including Evans and Mullinix and attorney Jo Ann Butaud aggressively pursue Nebraska Furniture Mart customers to the point of suing, requesting that Nebraska Furniture Mart be permitted to go into the homes of each customer to take all items purchased (even those partially paid for) and then hire movers to literally take the rugs and beds out from underneath down on their luck customers who were unlucky enough to buy from Nebraska Furniture Mart.

The practice is to file a lawsuit, harass the customer and embarrass them by having the Sheriff Department serve them or their family then request a PETITION FOR REPLEVIN WITHOUT BOND meaning the lawyer can hire someone to take everything from your home without having to post a bond or insurance to cover any damage or mistakes. Collections is common for credit card companies but this is the first company we have ever seen going so far as to enter the homes of customers to take what little they have left after they have been laid off or unemployed. One Nebraska Furniture Mart customer wrote us stating Evans and Mullinix had come to their home, taken their childs bed, baby crib and couch purchased leaving their new baby and daughter with nothing to sleep on as part of the lawsuit.

Another individual who lost his job was harassed for over two years by Evans and Mullinix who hired private process servers, sent the Sheriff to his family's home, to his girlfriends place of employment and even former neighbors and friends homes.in a time where the nation is struggling, families are losing their homes and unemployment is reaching record numbers it seems Nebraska Furniture Mart would treat down on their luck customers better. Suing everyone who gets behind in a credit car payment and going to their homes to take the very beds their family sleeps on is a bad way to do business. Lawyers like Jo Ann Butaud of Evans and Mullinix should be ashamed of what they are doing to kick people when they are down.

I would never shop at a place like Nebraska Furniture Mart no matter what deal is offered; there is more to doing business right than having a mega store and spending hundreds of thousands of dollars on marketing while treating families like criminals.
