Farmer's dead seeds and plants Faribault, Minnesota

Construction & Repair

When my companion's IRA dumped we decided to plant a garden to try and save some money. I'd ordered from seed catalogs for years and never heard of one cheating the customer or not sending healthy plants, so ordered $130.00 worth of plants and seeds from the catalog with the best prices: Farmer's Seed and Nursery.

My first hint something was wrong was when they contacted me and asked for a shipping address when there was still snow on the ground.

I spent the next two months emailing, asking "when are you going to begin shipping my order cause there is still snow on the ground?" and the responses I got were along the line of please give us your name and address so we know what order you're talking about.

I sent my name and address, then I copied and sent the order confirmation, then I sent the order confirmation as an attachment, and got reponses like "please make sure you send the body of all prevous emails so we know what's going on", "you didn't send the body of the email in that last email", I asked you to send the body of the email and you didn't".

Finally I said "I emailed a copy of this email to myself and to a friend, and we both received the body of all emails in it. If you are not receiving the body of all previous emails then something is wrong with your email, please check your settings and get back to me".

That was the last I heard from customer service.

Three months after my order was planced it began to arrive - plants were eaten off at the soil level by who-knows-what and I didn't dare plant them in my garden - the stems of others were blackened and/or dead at the soil level, or they were so badly burnt from being wrapped in plastic that they did not survive.

I immediated emailed customer service saying the plants are bug ridden, dead and/or dying, please stop all future shipments and refund my credit card.

The order is still coming, the company is refusing to credit my credit card, insisting I return the plants to them along with the original shipping label.

I can't return the plants. They are dead and in the trash. And their site says nothing about returning dead plants if they die anyway.

I've photo-copied the shipping label for my own records, and since there is info on the web that this nursery has denied ever getting the original from other people, and since we are very small town I'm going to ask the postmistress to verify the original is in the emvelope - if she can't I'm taking it all to a lawyer and have his office send it.

I've also contacted my local TV station, the U.S. Postal Service and am on my way to contacting my State's Agriculture Department about the nusery shipping dead and bug ridden plants into our state.
