They took our money and ran!

This company was most difficult to deal with. They were not timely in returning emails and/or answering our questions. I had to do a lot of the leg work myself. When I asked questions, they took days answering. When I met with their decorator to choose rugs, tiles, paint, etc. I fortunately took good notes on my choices because this person was soon no longer wotking for Altamont and had lost all the information.

I wrote a check to Altamont for $8,500 to start things going with the builder, Barvista. However, the check was made out to Altamont. We received inadequate CA plans (our Planning Department lauged at our plans from Altamont) and that is all I got for my money.

No way did they need $8,500 to draw up plans. We have since gone to another company and cost us a lot less.

Is there any recompense here for me? Well, proving Altamont's bankruptcy will help with taxes but not much else.
