Protect your home defender direct screwed up my alarm and my house broke a window and left the phones not working. I signed up for the alarm over the telephone and was assured all my security needs were going to be met,
let me assure you... They were not i signed up for the alarm in the beginning of november. I was told the technician would arrive in four days at 9:00 am, so on that day i was looking for the technician around 9:00 and there was no technician there, i was looking for the adt truck between 9- and 10, no one showed around 11:15 i get a call
from what i thought was the adt tech and says hell be there in a little while, so i asked him what a little while was he replied im on the way, now that i have taken the day off work and this guys calling me two hours late and telling me hes on the way. Ok i figured hed be there in a few minutes because he just hung up. Another 45 min went by and i look out side and there is a dirty gray mustang parked in my driveway, i didnt know who it was so i quickly went inside and grabbed my cordless phone just in case i had to call someone. Then the guy in the mustang gets out with a flannel shirt and blue jeans and comes to the door and says hes here to put my system in, i thought this couldnt be the adt tech being the shape he was in and the teenie bopper mustang. So 2 hours go by and he says hell have to come back to finish the job and that he broke a window and that i would be responsible for fixing it meanwhile the alarm parts he had installed had already fell on the ground because he did not use enought tape he said i should get my own tape and try to tape them up. So he left and my phones were not working and my fax internet phones were all down. I was never showed how to use the system, when the phone company came out they said that the alarm was not set up the right way and needs to be fixed asap. So i called for service and just got the run around so i decided to use the cancellation notice and cancel all services with them. I called adt directly and was assured i would be taken care of so i finally got a real technician to come out and remove the garbage that defeder adt put in and install a real alarm stystem the right way. Do not do business with defender direct they are not a reputable company and are not recomended.
Always call adt direct or visit their website prior to setting up anything with defender direct because you will be sorry, also do not fall for the additinal equipment sales pitch, hang up if they call you or throw away the mail insert you may get from them watch for protect your home adt dealer
