Misleading pricing on price protectin plan

I too have been a Marts oil customer for a few years. After my latest oil delivery, I called them to see what the current price for oil was under the price protection plan. On their website, they list the "wholesale" price as $1.69 per gallon. Imagine my surprise to find out that I would be paying $2.69 per gallon (is it me but hasn't the price of crude oil dropped). When I inquired about the $1.69, that's when I received the bogus explanation about their new plan you can join for $399 and get the wholesale price for a year. When I first joined @ 3-4 years ago, I was paying $1.89 per gallon. Under the price protection plan, you price is capped at something they set, so that no matter her high the prices for oil go, you don't pay over that amount. But when the price of oil drops, you pay the lower price. I then started calling some of the other oil companies in my area and everyone of them was lower then Martz. The prices ranged from a high of $2.60 per gallon to a low of $2.34 per gallon. Needless to say that I'm going to cancel my plan.
