Ripoff Offered 8' tomato tree 60 lbs tomatoes from one tree ripoff swindlers

Advertisement came in the mail with assorted other ad flyers. It was a fullpage, 8 1/2 by 11 inches, color, broadside offering tomato trees that would grow to 8 ft.in 3 months, and produce up to 60 lbs. Of tomatoes, each weighing up to 2 lbs.

Sale price was 2 trees for $6.98, with a "no risk guarantee." The ad was very cleverly done, with no name, address, or phone number anywhere on the page except the clip-out coupon. Therefore, future contact was unlikely.

They did have a web address at the bottom of the page. Luckily, my wife copied the address on a separate piece of paper and attached it to the ad.

We ordered four trees for a total price of $13.98, on January 29. We paid by check, # 1964, drawn on Bank of America.

We don't know yet if the check cleared, but will call the bank Monday and find out, and if not, issue a stop.
