Inspection company does not stand behind their service

Moved into a new home and ofcourse had to pay for a home inspection prior to closing the loan. Unfortunately, being new to the city, I opened the phone book and selected LandAmerica. The guy inspected my house in mid August and I closed on August 27. During the week of September 10, I found termite tunnels on the front of my house and believe me they were not hard to spot. I contacted the inspection company as I had a 90 day guarantee and was basically told to get lost. I filed a report with the BBB and finally received a response on December 17 from Brian Eisenman, Operations Manager. Keep in mind I had been waiting for any thye of response on for four months.

Brian apparently told the BBB the lies he was told by his subordinates. For starters he stated it took me 2 months to notice the infestation when in fact it took me 2 weeks and I wasn't even looking for termites. He also goes on to state that LandAmerica had contacted me twice to explain why their 90 day guarantee didn't cover termites. An absolute lie.

Brian sent the BBB a 90 guarantee that was completely different than the one that was provided to me following the inspection. The one provided to me had no termite exclusion. I specifically asked the inspector about termites and was assured that it was covered under the 90 day guarantee.

Bottom line is, avoid this company at all costs. Go to their competition as they did nothing but hide behind small print that was never provided to me.
