Mike Newson, SCP Holding Slum Lords!

I was a tenant at Bradford Square Condominums for 1 and1/2 years. The property is very nice and the neighbors are great, I just had a problem with the private landlord (he bought some of the condos and rented them out privately). During my stay there I had several issues. First, the closest doors kept breaking.

After reporting this issue, it took a few months for the landlord (Mike Newson) to come fix it, and about 3 days later the living room closet door fell on my head and I was pregnant! Second, spiders where everywhere in the hall and ants were coming in. I also reported this and was told that this was a problem that I had to fix. WOW! Third, the airconditioner wasn't working.

After about a month of waiting, he finally had someone come fix it, but two months later it was broke again. The following year when someone finally came to look at it again, the entire thing was supposed to be replaced. But guess what, it did not get fixed until I moved out. So my 3 month old son got heat stroke and I ended up having to stay in a hotel for 2 days!!!

Finally, I noticed there were always issues with opening up the front door, so when it finally broke it was no surprise. I didn't bother trying to tell them to come fix it because they never would have—and guess what, when they finally came over about the air conditioner and found out about the door, they still did not fix it.

Now, I had let all these issues go and wasn't worried about it until I moved out July 30 and have been waiting for my deposit to be returned. I have left several messages and haven't heard anything back! So not only does he not fix the problems that occur with the property, he doesn't want to return your money to you. So do not rent from Mike Newson. I am not sure if the entire SCP Holding company (located in Michigan) is like that, but he is horrible!!!
