After doing background checks, searched state records, better business bureau, etc., we hired Chad Flake to do some basic home-remodeling. After paying a deposit, the problems started.

Chad didn't show up when he said he would, called with plausible excuses—quite the sob stories—and when he finally showed up the work was poorly done.

We both agreed to walk away from the job and Chad was going to refund the remainder of my deposit. I am still waiting for my refund promised in November.

We have now learned that Chad has skipped town. His website is no longer active.
