Alside/r&m Construction
Alside doesn't care who is representing them or their products ohio

Last year, we were approached by richard lahna of r&m construction. He let us believe that he was an installer/salesperson/representative of alside siding. Before we contracted with him, i checked him out on the bbb. No report. Ok. I checked alside's website. We liked their products.

In their website, they state that "we believe by only selling to professional remodelers, contractors and builders, we can be sure the best people in the industry install our premium products. And that the end result is a beautiful home, every time.

R&m construction had signage that had theirs and alside's name together. They were anything but professional. Not only did they upset our neighbors with their crude language and loud arguments, but they did a crappy job.

I emailed alside about these issues. Their customer no-service at first was going to forward my email to the local supply center about the negative feedback, and "and asked that they take the necessary steps in rectifying the installation problems you have and will follow up to ensure they contact you to fix them."

When the dork from milwaukee came up to inspect the issues, he would not even consider me the customer, but r&m. He said there was nothing they could do about the substandard siding job. We have had 2 pieces fall off the house already, and have 6 inch seams and generally a crap job.

We have lived in our home for 22 years. We bought it as a fixer-upper. We had a garage built, a driveway poured, basement walls straightened, and replaced all the windows ourselves. We had the original cedar shake on the exterior, and siding was the last thing on our exterior list.

I have contacted 2 bbb's and the consumer protection agency. Alside refuses to say what they mean or mean what they say - which amounts to fraud. We have been trying to get estimates to fix this mess. I would love to rip the whole thing down and start over, but we can't afford that.

I have contacted a lawyer, but i need estimates before we can proceed. Don't believe alside and their false statements online. They sell to anyone who has a buck, professional or not. R&m has refused to answer registered letters and phone calls. They didn't answer the bbb, and lied about us to the consumer protection agency. Trust no one. I don't know what else we could have done.
