Defective Yard Equipment Seller On EBAY

I purchased a used Shindaiwa articulated hedge trimmer from this firm on EBAY for $284 including shipping.

Unfortunately, I did not immediately closely examine the tool and try to operate it upon receipt. I later found that it had been operated without an air filter, the spark plug was fouled, and the cutter blades were bent and assembled with incorrect bolts and nuts. The gearbox had a seized bearing which prevented the blades from moving.

The EBAY listing stated that this item was tested before shipping and was in good operating condition. Since I waited too long to complain, the firm refuses any adjustment. The parts to make this operable cost over $100, not counting the labor to repair it.

They said that all equipment is checked by their "mechanic" before shipping.

Unfortunately it's too late to leave negative feedback on EBAY, so that's why I'm submitting this complaint.
