Loses Futon Bunkbed Won't Give Refund For Over Two Months Bed was ordered and after waiting and receiving many promises, now serious delay is experienced getting refund

On 1/4, we ordered two futon bunkbeds from the Fingerhut Clearance Catalog that was sent to our home. One arrived within a week. It was beautiful! We loved it. We never saw the second bed.

After several weeks of empty promises from the most inarticulate people we've ever dealt with as customer service representatives (Fingerhut employees), we finally decided to cancel the order.

We were told to wait ten days for the refund to reach us. Ten days came and went; back on the phone we were with Fingerhut. It turned out the woman who handled the refund had never actually put it IN the system as a refund.

The process was started again - this time, a supervisor came on the line to explain that because Yellow Trucking Company had somehow "lost" the bed in their warehouse, we could not get a refund until after a special affadavit was signed by us, returned to Fingerhut, an investigation ensued and maybe - maybe - after 30 more days we may get our $225 back.

As you can imagine, we don't give a care what happened to the bed or its whereabouts - we have long since cancelled the order and would like our money back. As the customer, we deserve a speedy return of the payment made. (We didn't use Fingerhut credit, we had paid for the bed in full at the time it was ordered.)

Unfortunately, we also used a bank debit card, so it is not possible for us to do a chargeback on the order. We are at the mercy of Fingerhut giving us this refund "if and when" they are satisfied with their "investigation."

Never, never, never do business with this company. We had problems with them 10 years ago and foolishly went ahead and placed an order in January, thinking it surely couldn't be a company as poorly run as it was years ago. Wrong! It is worse than ever.

We have learned an expensive lesson. Don't let it happen to you.
